A Spoon Full Of Sugar

I have had so many e-mails asking where I was! Tickles me pink to know you are reading!!!

I have a great excuse this time...I have been to busy laying in bed... dead... to blog. I have said for years that it should be against the law for Mom's to get sick. I still stand by that philosophy.

Early in the week I began to feel like I had swallowed a steak knife. Not one to complain (duh whatever) I went to bed only to wake up 4 days later and realize that someone forgot to tell me I had died. I finally drug myself to the doctor on Friday, couldn't go on Thursday because I felt to bad to go anywhere but my own funeral. Got the picture yet? I am the proud owner of a case of the flu. Those who know me well know that I am a firm supporter of a flu shot...I guess in making sure everyone got theirs I forgot mine?!?!? I just can not remember if I had one or not...but even if I did the sucker did NOT work (I am seriously thinking of asking for a refund).

Sooooo I am on the mend...my tribe is thankful that I am back in the game...Hondo made me smile describing how they made it without me but they certainly were not full strength...he lovingly described it as "limping" along (with full visuals).

Here is a quick update on this week:

Report cards came home on Wednesday...all did very very well...can not tell you how excited we were to see grades this time. They have quickly realized that in a family this size you can not hide report card day (not to mention I work in the schools). There is always a family nerd who comes through the door waving grades for all to see. SOOOOO it just pays off to do well and save yourself the pain and agony.

Tom is home, thank the lord, or my parents would have had to drive down and run the tribe. I was in no shape to take care of anyone.

ATL is still a lovely place to live...the kids have all privileges back and the house continues to stay in tip top shape.

Ben got his first pair of golf shoes (I know... but this is huge in our family)

Dallas and Deacon got weighed...Dallas is 63 pounds and Deacon is 76 pounds (and only 8 months old).

I got my car back from the shop...now this doesn't seem like a huge thing BUT for the last month my drivers side window would go down but not up...not great for rainy cold weather...and the air conditioner would not shut off, it was stuck on high...when you hit the off button it would go to mega HIGH...again not great for rainy cold weather. Can you imagine the conversation when Noah "accidentally" rolled down the window...it was 23 degrees outside and I had to drive on the interstate? Not sure why he is still alive?

Noel has blown her knee out again, so back to physical therapy and another MRI.

Allie and Cassie are getting ready for the dance recital (not sure where Noel will fit in to this years plans after the knee injury).

Nick spent a week in Florida on spring break (this is ALL I know because I refuse to ask any questions...better ignorant than angry).

Poppie (my soon to be father in law) hit a hole in one!!!!

I am sure there is more but in my NyQuil induced coma this is all I can think of.

It may never be easy but it will always be worth it.

  1. So Noel e-mailed me your blog, it was great to read and see how everyone is doing! I miss each and every one of you more than you will ever know...The kids have grown so much, and I know they are all growing into some amazing young adults...Congratulations on your weight loss, I am facing that battle myself at the moment, and congratulations to you Tom, I am glad you have someone who truly makes you happy, lord knows you deserve it! I'm sorry for the past, and I wish you all the best in whatever your future may hold...Congrats on the school nurse thing as well, that is awesome! I am planning on being a school counselor and should graduate with my Bachelors in about another year...Anyway I will quit rambling, not sure that you even want to hear from me so I'm gonna go! Best of luck always!
